What’s the difference between psychoanalysis (or therapy) and counselling?

Unlike counselling, psychoanalysis is 'depth psychology' – it’s about identifying those themes that are, and have been, hurdles for your functional development.
Psychoanalysis is also about working with the ‘unconscious’ i.e. interpreting dreams by allowing the psyche to communicate that which resides outside of our awareness. These insights help you reframe your engagement with yourself and the world you live in.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies from person to person and depends on what you’re looking for.
Unlike coaching (which has structured and packaged sessions), psychoanalysis usually means ongoing weekly sessions, irrespective of whether you’re addressing a specific crisis or simply seeking to understand yourself better.

How long does a session last?

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

How much will each session cost me?

Although I have a fixed per-session rate, I would urge you to have a word with me, so we can agree on a fee based on your needs.

How do I pay?

I accept payment in cash or cheque, on a per-session basis. If you like, we could also arrive at an arrangement for fortnightly or monthly payments via bank transfer or PayPal.

How do I make an appointment?

You can email me (mailto:info@jaagran.org?subject=I'd like to fix an appointment to see you...)at or call me at 96951063 and leave a message. We can then arrange an initial meeting. This will help us understand what you’re keen on exploring, thus giving us an opportunity to evaluate our comfort in working together.
Based on this initial session, we can work out a schedule for future sessions.

Where’s your office?

I'm at One Fullerton, 1 Fullerton Road, #02-01, Singapore 049213. The nearest MRT is Raffles Place, and there are many buses that stop nearby. There's also an underground carpark in the building itself.

Question 8

Will I have to skip my sessions if I have to travel on work?

I support clients on their personal journey with both face-to-face as well as skype sessions, where necessary.
During your travels, we can arrange for a specific session slot via Skype (bearing in mind the time differences).
